Douglas Severo

Douglas Severo

Douglas Severo is a PhD candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, and a faculty member at Western University. He has taught a wide range of courses in linguistics, education, TESOL, and academic, professional, and business communication at the University of Toronto, Western University, and Ivey Business School. He also has extensive experience teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and oral communication courses for multilingual students in higher education. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his research at conferences across Canada and internationally.

At the GCAC, Douglas supports graduate students in the Academic Conversation Skills Intensive and 6-week courses. He is particularly interested in helping multilingual graduate students build confidence communicating complex ideas to academic and professional audiences.
