Alex is the Research Funding, Awards and Honours Officer in the Office of the Vice Dean, Research & Health Science Education in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Alex has a PhD in Evolutionary Biology; her research focused on exploring the transmission of nongenetic traits across generations. She has many years of experience helping STEM graduate students improve their academic writing.

In addition to teaching the Writing CIHR Proposals course for the GCAC, she previously served as the Course Instructor for the Writing NSERC Proposals course, a Lead Writing TA, the Research Analyst for the Writing Instruction for TAs program, and a Research Analyst in Curriculum Development.
