Dr. Sara Hamed
Sara Hamed holds a PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto, where her dissertation, Making Tradition Possible: Islamic Organizations in Canada, explored the ethical and institutional negotiations of Muslim communities in secular contexts. She has taught anthropology and religious studies at UofT and other universities in Canada and holds an OCELT certification and TESL diploma from the Canadian College of Educators. Sara is currently developing a postdoctoral research project on Mohamed Shahrour and contemporary Qur’anic exegesis.
At the GCAC, she supports graduate students with the Academic Conversation Skills intensive course.
